May 6th, 1953 marks the birthday of former British prime minister, Tony Blair! He was prime minister from 1997 to 2007. When Blair was elected he was 43 years old, making him the youngest prime minister since Lord Liverpool in 1812. During his time in office, Blair was a strong supporter of former U.S. president George W. Bush. Blair is the only prime minister in the history of the Labour Party to win three consecutive general elections. Gordon Brown succeeded him as prime minister in 2007.
